2 May 2008 - St Modan's Junior Debating Championship
The School’s annual Junior Debating Championship was held on Friday, 25 April in the school Lecture Theatre. The motion was “This House would barricade itself into the old School, take teachers hostage and refuse to move to the new School.”
Three teams spoke for the proposition and three teams spoke for the opposition. Congratulations to winners of this year’s Junior Debating Championship for the Archie Lafferty Memorial Quaich who were S1 pupils, Lucy Greenhalgh and Eleanor Blyth.
Excellent performances were also given by:
Alexander Ramsay & Neil Alexander (S2), Ruth McCabe & Duncan Livingston (S1), Claire Lannon & Erin Hamill (S2), Monica Dunne & Mairead Masterson (S1) and Hannah Gillespie & Megan Davidson (S1).
