5 Nov 2007 - This is S1 Social Responsibility Week

All of our S1 pupils this week are exposed to a wide range of activities across the school involving aspects of social responsibility. Topics such as Bullying, Fair Trade, Racism, Social Inclusion, Racism and sectarianinsm are explored in Assemblies, Social Subjects, RME, Modern Languages and English classes.

This week culminates in an end-of-week 'Social Responsibility Forum' - an afternoon of fun and activities which demonstrate the importance of being a 'good citizen'. S1 will be given a presentation on the 'Butterly Effect' by Miss Gallagher PT PSD and will showcase posters, photos and other creations of the week.

This event ends with looking forward to the future, considering what the next stage of developing social responsibility might be for children of S1.

This is a new event developed as part of our new and revised PSE programme. In future this event is likely to be held on the last week before the October Break and it is hoped that Parents may be invited to attend and to share in our pupils' successes.
